In 2018, Adriana Macias and Steven Richkind embarked on a new chapter in their lives, moving to the serene shores of Loreto, Baja California Sur. Drawn by the natural beauty and tranquility of the Sea of Cortez, they purchased land near the beach and built Posada Espíritu Del Mar—a name that translates to “Spirit of the Sea Inn.”
Inspired by the sun-soaked beaches, the gentle sea breeze, and the clear, warm waters of Loreto, Adriana and Steven found their hearts called to this magical place. Steven often hums the famous Mexican tune, “En el mar, la vida es más sabrosa” (“At the sea, life is sweeter”), perfectly capturing their connection to the sea and the life they’ve built here.
Every morning, Adriana and Steven begin their day with meditation, embracing gratitude and mindfulness. They believe in sharing the peace they find with everyone they meet. Whether hosting guests or traveling, their philosophy centers on kindness, compassion, and heartfelt connections.
Steven’s lifelong passion for music adds a unique touch to their hospitality. With over 50 years of experience playing classical guitar, he often improvises melodies and offers free lessons to guests and friends. His extra guitar and professional congas are always ready for a jam session. Whether you’re a musician or a fan of live music, Steven invites you to join in or simply enjoy the rhythms of Posada Espíritu Del Mar.
